Focus is on our City’s history this week but not on a period anyone learnt about in school. Tom Hooper’s new film, The Damned United about Brian Clough’s move from Derby County to Leeds United has met with a mixed reception. In this City, Nigel Clough has distanced himself from it and fans are understandably nervous about a film that tampers with the image of one of our great legends. However, reviews seem to be positive and I for one intend to go to see the film and make up my own mind.
I’m excited about people around the country talking about our football heritage and I’m looking forward to Nigel Clough’s changes ensuring that they’ll soon be talking about out football future.
