Scalpel Sharpe

strawberryI recently found the blog of this guy Stuart Sharpe.  He’s an independent political blogger from Derby and writes interesting stuff.

I was surprised and delighted to see this site mentioned on one of his blogs and, although it wasn’t all complimentary, I think he presented interesting thoughts about the situation in Derby.

Margaret Beckett is out of touch and doesn’t care (I mean can an MP really get away without having an email address these days?!), the Liberals haven’t even bothered to select a candidate or update their website and so it’s just me trying to get a message across about a change in the City and in the Country.  I’m hoping that there are at least a few of you out there keeping-up with my progress.

After his first article, he wrote a follow-up on the role of the internet in politics.  I thought it was great.  I’ll leave you to judge which party comes out best in Derby!

Wow, thanks for the shout-out! Much obliged!

I certainly didn’t mean to be too critical – I am, in fact, very impressed by what you’ve been doing here, and I think it’s great. I was just dealing with the obvious criticisms head-on. Hope you didn’t take it too much in the wrong light :-)

You’re absolutely right – Margaret ‘three homes’ Beckett is well out of touch, and a pretty poor excuse for a representative. There’s a definite attitude around here, though, that it’ll be a cold day in hell before many people consider voting Conservative. I do hope you can change some minds.

    Good luck!

    Stu
