Last week I was out in Belper and Derby with Roger Helmer MEP and parliamentary candidates Stephen Mold and Pauline Latham. We were asking people to sign a petition demanding that the government draws a line under this sordid expenses affair by calling a general election to breathe fresh life into our parliament.
Of the people that I spoke to, there was almost unanimous support for this petition – they’re angry and rightly so. We’ve got to get Mr Brown and his cronies out of Number Ten before we can start the process of repairing our democracy so that, once again, it is the envy of the World.
