A friend of mine works for Google and he told me about a tool they’ve developed that helps politicians engage with their constituents.  It’s call Google moderator and it allows people to submit questions or policy ideas to their representatives and vote on which ones are most important to them. It’s important because you can never submit too many ideas and it’s a way of managing loads of complimentary or competing...

Expenses – Please just get it sorted!!...

I genuinely thought this would be over by now.  I had absolute faith that the Labour government (which we entrust with running our whole country) would have understood the will of the people and got their act together on expenses.  Despite all their limitations and repeated failures I truly thought that they could get this one little thing right.  I was totally wrong. Help for Heroes in Chellaston...

It was a great pleasure to support a brilliant fund-raising event in Chellaston.  Local Conservative Councillors teamed up with a landlord and created a wonderful village fete style atmosphere to raise money for our military heroes.   Having only left the army a few years ago, plenty of my mates are fighting in Afghanistan.  I know that events like this send them the message that we appreciate them, we care about them...

My Big Night Out...

Saturday night saw me on patrol with Derby’s Street Pastors.  The shift which lasted from 10pm to 4am left me exposed to the full impact of Derby’s weekend party culture.  I love to watch people in the City have a good time and there are definitely a few people that get it wrong, that take it too far and get themselves in trouble.  So it was good to be there to offer them help.  But the real message I took away...
